The Appian Way was a very important road for ancient Rome. It was very cool walking on the same stones that Roman armies once marched on. Like Ostia Antica, this is not one of the super popular attractions, so I was able to enjoy ancient infrastructure without the nuances of tourists and junk-sellers.
